Sand & gravel are quarried by dry open pit without blasting thus with zero harm to the ecosystem, unlike illegal sand & gravel quarrying from rivers.
Rock mass and finished products are washed at a special washing unit to remove clay & dust particles. Return water from settling ponds is used as a washing liquid.
Production facilities are located at open platforms.

Since the start of the full-scale war in 2022, Maidan-Ispas site (which commenced operations in 2012 as part of Lafarge with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) has not suspended its production activities. On the contrary, it has continued to invest in its development and production improving.
Key achievements during this period include:
– acquisition of three excavators and a Volvo loader;
– commencement of the third phase development;
– installation of an additional gravel processing line;
– increase in extraction and processing volumes by up to 25%.
Further increases in production volumes and the acquisition of additional equipment are planned in 2026 and 2027.
The site strictly complies with Ukrainian legislation and international standards on occupational health & safety and mining operations.
