Granite stone was quarried from the Polish quarry “Falka”, which might be located on the territory of Klesiv VI granite deposit.

Klesiv VI granite deposit began to be commercially developed under the order of the Ministry of the USSR Ministry of Defence as the XVI Quarry Department or military unit No. 21733.

Military unit No. 21733 was renamed into the 472nd aggregates plant (472 KKNK) under the supervision of the State Department of the USSR Ministry of Defense.

As the USSR collapsed, the 472nd KKNK was subordinated to the Central Department of the Construction Industry and Logistics of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and was named Klesiv aggregates quarry “Diorite”.

Fixed assets of KKNK “Diorite” were transferred to LLC “Technobud”. Later, the company was renamed into LLC Klesiv aggregates quarry “Technobud”.

Klesiv aggregates quarry “Technobud” became a member of Lafarge, a French producer of building materials.

Lafarge merged with Holcim, a Swiss company, to form LafargeHolcim international group of companies.

LafargeHolcim in Ukraine obtained a special permit and started to mine amber and sand at the Northeastern area of Fedoriv section of Klesiv amber and sand deposit. Its area overlaps reserves of the current Klesiv granite quarry and covers areas to be further developed within the quarry and its stockpiling.

LafargeHolcim left Ukraine. Klesiv, Koshchiivka and Maidan-Ispas sites became members of a newly created Technobud Group.
